Sabrina Arnesen Penuel

Sabrina Penuel graduated from ECU in May of 2003 with a BFA in Dance Education.  Mrs. Penuel is currently the Dance Director at Garner Magnet High School, and has taught there since 2004.  She has studied with Pat Pertalion, Patty Weeks, Cindy Mancinni, and Tomi Galaska.  She has taken master classes with David Parsons, Gabe Masson, Mark Dendy, Rodger Belman, David Dorfman, and Janet Wong of the Billy T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. 

Mrs. Penuel was an intergral part of writing the MSAP grant that allowed her to bring Garth Fagan Dance Comapny to perform and teach master classes at her school, and she was able to attend the Amercian Dance Festival of 2008.

Mrs. Penuel, with the help of the GMHS Dance Boosters, was able to host Streb Action Engineers in the Fall of 2010.

Mrs. Penuel is currently working on her Masters in School Adminstration (MSA) at NCSU. She will graduate in May of 2011 and hopes to pursue a career as an AP in the Wake County School System.

Ashley Walker Anderson

Ashley Anderson is a graduate of East Carolina University with a BFA in Dance Education.  She worked as a student teacher at Ligon Middle School under the direction of Mr. Freddie-Lee Heath.  Mrs. Anderson trained with Robb Beaman and Patricia Warren of the Joffrey Ballet, at the North Carolina School of the Arts, Brigham Young University, and North Carolina Governor’s School. She was a member of the Dance Collective Company in Greenville and the South Eastern Regional Ballet Association. Mrs. Anderson has been chosen to perform original works by many choreographers including Rodger Belman, Timour Bourtasenkov, Elie Lazar, and Melissa Hayle-Coyle. She recently performed “Skylight” by Laura Dean in NYC.
